Return in Maarch for an update on our very popular suncatcher painting project. This one has been requested again by so many of our studetns that we couldn't resis. There will be a choice of four new designs!

Decopage is a great technique which can be applied to almost anything!! There is no worng way to do it, and it can even be created with only one hand! Men use the same techniques to wrap wooden picture frames!

We are offering FREE Art classes due to a grant from "Friends of the Library". Sign up in March or May for one of 12 FREE classes. We will teach silk painting, water color, concrete trivets, jewelry making, and so much more!

We are getting record attendance for our scarf making class, maybe it is the exercize portion we do at the end of class where we show each student how to wear their scarf?

We have been added to Augsburg College staff to teach art for seniors! Believing that learning is an ongoing, lifelong adventure, Augsburg College of the Third Age provides opportunities for older adults to expand their knowledge, thinking, and engagement in the community through faculty-led instruction in the liberal arts, fine arts, theology, and social sciences. College of the Third Age provides educational opportunities at more than 200 sites.

We provide three monthly art lessons to over 40 people at Wilder Day program. We have done weaving, concrete pavers, mosaic bowling ball gazing balls, card making, silk painting, and so much more!

Artsy Smartsy is one of many volunteers to provide hats for the hat auction, we also created a huge 8' tall tree for the "Leaf your Legagy" event where visitors leave a memory on a leaf and attach it to the painted tree....We also had a booth at the event on Friday showing how to weave on a hoola hoop! Come join other local artists as well who provide creativity to seniors!

In the Winter of 2011, Tina Ottmar owner of Artsy Smartsy featured handmade gifts such as customizeable family tree paintings, plaster plaques, wine cork keychains, woven fabric bowls, handmade paper books, holiday ornaments, and so much more at some of her senior locations!

Clay, birdhouses, mosaic trivets, Coin purses, String sculpture, Cigar Candy Boxes, Watercolor paintings, and so much more!
